How does a high-fat diet influence metabolic inflammatory responses in blood and adipose (fat) tissue?

Loughborough University researchers are looking for participants for a study investigating the impact of a high saturated fat diet on fasted blood and adipose (fat) tissue inflammatory responses.

The team is looking for individuals who fit the following criteria:

  • healthy
  • non-smoking
  • aged 18-40 years
  • have a BMI of 21.0-29.9 kg/m

If you are interested in taking part, you will be invited to complete a one-hour screening and 30-minute familiarisation/pre-test visit and then two one-hour study visits. The two study visits will take place after a three-day weight maintenance diet and after a one-week high fat diet and will include the collection of blood and a single small adipose (fat) tissue sample.

You will be provided with a 10-day supply of food (three day weight maintenance followed by seven day high fat diet) free of charge as part of the study and will be reimbursed for your time.
