Loughborough academic to chair mental health and wellbeing event in Brussels

Dr Fehmidah Munir, Reader in Health Psychology at Loughborough University, will chair ‘Enhancing Mental Health and Well-being: Promoting Mental Well-being and Preventing Mental Ill Health at the Workplace’ in Brussels on 23 January 2019.

The event, organised by Public Policy Exchange in association with the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, will bring together senior EU policy-makers and stakeholders from across Europe.

Together with mental health specialists they will explore both the damaging and beneficial aspects of working life on mental health. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss current initiatives, examine innovative approaches to promote mental health in the workplace and consider the relationship between mental well-being and unemployment.

Dr Munir, from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, said: “I am delighted to have been asked to chair this event which aligns closely with my research into mental wellbeing and workplace health. This is an important event that gives key stakeholders the opportunity to come together and discuss some of the pertinent issues in the area.”
