Study: How do the muscles involved in breathing affect breathing patterns?

Academics at Loughborough University are seeking healthy participants aged 18 to 55 years for a study to test breathing patterns during cycling. They are looking for participants who do not have any cardio-respiratory disease. However, you may participate if you feel breathless when moving around or exercising as long as you have been told this is not due to a respiratory problem such as asthma.

This study will help increase understanding of how the muscles involved in breathing affect breathing patterns. Two visits to Loughborough University campus are involved, including a health screen and three exercise tests. You will be given information about your exercise capacity and your breathing pattern on completion of the study.

For more information and to take part please contact Dr Sam Winter (S.L.Winter@lboro.ac.uk) for further information.
