The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University is to be awarded a plaque by the Physiological Society to recognise it as a centre of excellence for physiology in sport, exercise and health science.

The Physiological Society’s Excellence in Physiology Award honours institutions that are centres of excellence for physiology in either discovery or leadership. This award is presented by the Board of Trustees following recommendation from the Nominations Committee.

The plaque is to be unveiled in the Clyde Williams building on the Loughborough University campus on Thursday 20th June by Professor Clyde Williams. The plaque unveiling will be followed by a series of presentations, taking place in the James France Building room CC011 which will showcase some of the School’s work in physiology. The schedule for the event is below:

1.30pm – Short ceremony and plaque unveiling in Clyde Williams Building atrium
2.15-3.45pm – Celebrating Physiology in Loughborough series of talks – Chairs Dr Stephen Bailey (Physiological Society Rep) and Abbie Mclellan

3.45-5.00pm – Networking and drinks reception
